HISTORY
Founded in 1949, the name “Aeroplata” derives from the company’s origins: “Aero” refers to the fact that the initial equipment was designed for testing cracks in the landing gear of small aircraft, and “Plata” because the company was originally based in La Plata, a city in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Aeroplata began its journey with the production of testing equipment during a period of rapid industrialization in Argentina. This era saw a strong demand from emerging industries such as automotive, metalworking, and aviation. In its early years, Aeroplata managed to supply the domestic market and made its first exports.
From the very beginning, quality was the cornerstone of all its products, ensuring that every part and component met the highest standards. As a result, even today, Aeroplata equipment is still in operation at various companies, some of which have been using machines that are over 60 years old.
In 1995, the company relocated to Temperley, Buenos Aires, where it underwent a full reorganization and modernization process. This transition marked the beginning of a new phase of technological advancement. Aeroplata adopted the latest breakthroughs in electronics and technology to produce safer, more high-tech equipment.
During this period, the company also added a Programming and Development Department, allowing it to integrate software solutions that enabled full communication with PLC systems (PowerLine Communication) for clients.
In 2003, Aeroplata introduced a new Research & Development (R&D) policy, which led to the creation of a Development and Design Department. This was the start of a continuous improvement process that would help Aeroplata better meet the growing demands of the market. The company began working closely with major pipe producers to develop equipment tailored to their specific needs, such as seamless pipe inspection for the oil industry. This effort culminated in 2005, with the launch of the “Premium Line”, a new product line designed specifically for the oil sector, complementing its existing general industry products.
The Premium Line quickly gained traction both domestically and internationally, offering high-quality, innovative equipment at competitive prices. This success propelled Aeroplata’s export efforts, allowing the company to expand its market reach and establish a strong international presence.
Since then, Aeroplata has continued to support the development of local industries while maintaining steady growth through ongoing product innovation and market adaptation.
In 2015, our quality management system was certified with the ISO 9001:2008 standard for the design, development, manufacture, and commercialization of crack detection equipment for ferrous materials in sectors like automotive, oil, and general industry. This certification reflects our unwavering commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
In 2019 We have made significant strides in expanding our global footprint, establishing partnerships and alliances in North America, Europe, and the
Integration of robotic cells into non-destructive testing processes marked a new level of automation and precision in quality control. This strategic step highlighted our ongoing commitment to technological innovation and operational efficiency.
So on we updated our designs and manufacturing processes to meet the latest international standards such as ASTM E3024 and EN ISO 9712, opening doors to new and emerging markets that demand strict regulatory compliance.
In 2022 Development of advanced inspection systems using next-generation sensors increased our defect detection capabilities even in extreme industrial conditions, further improving product performance and reliability.
From 2024 and on the integration of artificial intelligence into defect analysis systems marked a breakthrough in inspection speed and accuracy, further reducing processing times and reinforcing Aeroplata’s role as a pioneer in digital transformation for industrial testing.
